Which replacement window is best for you?

When researching which replacement window is best for you, many factors lead up to making that final decision. After attending my first home show, I realized that remodeling projects are much more detailed and time consuming. Gravina’s Window Center recently had a booth at the Colorado Garden and Home Show. We were one of hundreds of vendors who participated in the show. That’s a TON of home improvement companies, all with a wide range of products, all competing for your business.

So how do you decide which product is best for you? Well, I don’t know about landscaping, countertops or jacuzzi spas, but I do know a little something about windows. So here’s my two cents…

First and foremost, you have to define your problem. There’s a reason why you’re shopping for replacement windows. Are the existing windows showing condensation? Are they letting cold, drafty air inside your house? What is the issue you are having? Asking yourself these questions will ultimately make the process a lot easier.

Next, pick the materials you would like your replacement windows to be made of. Gravina’s Window Center primarily sells Infinity by Marvin fiberglass windows. We also sell vinyl, aluminum, and wood replacement windows but truly believe fiberglass windows are the best. (See our previous posts to find out exactly why!) It all depends on what you are looking for though. For example, some people prefer to put less expensive windows in their basement. We’ve had many customers buy fiberglass replacement windows for their entire house and then choose to do vinyl in the basement. If you are unaware of which material is best for your project, our sales staff would be more than happy to help you.

Finally, pick the details! That’s the fun part! There are a million different style options out there. You can choose to go with a replacement window that looks exactly like your existing unit. On the other hand, you can completely revamp your room/house/wall and go with a different look by adding grilles or choosing obscured glass. Gravina’s Window Center also can enlarge an existing opening to put a larger window in its place. If you really want to enhance the look of your room, bay or bow windows can definitely add a new sense of style.

There are so many different options out there. Take a look at them and have fun with it!
